Revisions

The Revision Process

A Revision of a cue in visual media occurs when the showrunner or music supervisor provides feedback after reviewing how the music works with the picture and overall scene.

This feedback could involve adjusting the timing, mood, energy, or specific elements of the cue to better align with the visuals. For example, they might ask for changes in the instrumentation, reducing intensity during dialogue, or adding more emotion in certain moments. The goal of a revision is to ensure the music enhances the storytelling, perfectly syncing with the visuals and dialogue to create the desired impact.

Revisions are a normal part of the process, and they're essential for refining the music so that it complements the visual narrative and meets the showrunner's creative vision.

Revision Process

After going over the NOTES given by Bunim, Open your Session to make the approriate changes, BUT before moving anything, it works best to SAVE a NEW VERSION of the session, even as a "version 2" or "v2"

This will ensure that you do NOT alter anything of the cue OTHER than what is being requested.  This will also ensure that if something goes wrong, You will always have a way to go back to what was done BEFORE the revision attempt was made.

  • After Saving a new version, make the adjustments as instructed by the feedback, and ReSubmit the cue the exact same way as the initial Submission (mp3) this time, place it in the Revisions Folder in a Sub Folder with your Batch # of the weeks submiession.

  • Send an email instructing that you have completed the Revision process, in which the revised cue(s) will be gatherd and sent to Bunim for review.

Approved Revisions

  • Once you have recived confirmation that your Revised Cue has been approved, follow the same process found in the Devlierables Section and submit the finished Devlierables inside of the main Approvals Folder in the Sub Folder with the Batch # of the week.

  • IF you have other Approved cues already in this Batch Folder, you can add another SubFolder inside titled "Revision Approvals" to distinguish the cues.

  • Send a final  email instructing that you have completed the Revision Approvals  process, in which the deliverables will be gathered and sent to Bunim and you are DONE.
